To boost your health and mood
Walk outside every day. It’s a natural health and mood booster. Every cell in your body needs natural light – the sun is always there, even when it’s cloudy. Connect with nature. Take deep breaths. Smell the air. What does it smell like? Leaves? Sand? The ocean? Look around you, not with your mind, but with your heart. See the beauty and perfection in all things. Walk everywhere as much as possible. Your body was made for walking and moving. It needs fresh air. You are not made to stay indoors, breathe stale air, and sit all day under fluorescent lighting.
To activate growth in every cell, organ and tissue, flush out toxins and waste in your body, improve your posture, and maintain the ability to walk
Take off your shoes and jump up and down every day. Why jumping? The benefits of this simple exercise are astounding:
it enables your brain to activate growth and stimulate every cell, organ and tissue
- it flushes out the lymph (a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells), thus getting rid of toxins, waste and other unwanted stuff in the body.
- it signals your brain to bring your body into perfect alignment – a simple way to correct a bad posture.
- it prepares your body for walking – it teaches your body how to absorb the force of an even greater force of gravity in order to be able to walk*
*Did you know that when you walk, you double the force of gravity of your body weight into each leg each time? So if you don’t prepare your body for walking by jumping, you can’t expect to sustain the ability to walk. Don’t want to lose the ability to walk? Start jumping – every day. Even better, do it outside to get natural light and fresh air, and boost your mood and health.
If you have a desk job, set a timer for every half hour, take your shoes off, and jump on the balls of your feet. Start with 30 seconds and work your way up. When you jump, make sure to keep your upper body relaxed, arms hanging down by your side, hands loose.
To boost your concentration
Those mini jumping breaks will even improve your concentration: studies have shown that the ability to concentrate starts to decrease around 50 to 90 minutes. I recommend taking a jumping break before that to avoid losing any concentration at all and to prevent the adverse effects of sitting too long, for example, slower metabolism, compromised posture, lower energy, and back pain.
Our bodies don’t lose capacity, strength and muscle because of aging. Why then? The reason is simple and logical, really. It’s basically because we gradually stop moving and using our bodies. That’s why people who are sedentary eventually lose the ability to walk and do basic functional movements. It’s not aging. It’s neglect of the body.
Now that you’ve got the knowledge to make new health choices, what will you choose?
I know what I’m choosing 🙂
